Activity vs. Accomplishment

caterpillarSo much has been written about the difference between activity and actual accomplishment. However, I continue to see professionals who are swamped during the day and exhausted by days end, still not moving any closer to accomplishing what’s truly important.

Years ago, a French Naturalist conducted an experiment with processionary caterpillars.  The scientist lined the caterpillars up around a flower pot. They marched night & day until they starved themselves to death with their food, pine needles, less than 3 inches away. They are a perfect example of confusing activity with accomplishment.

“Don’t just work tomorrow because you worked there yesterday.”

This week, take the time to review your goals and make sure you schedule DAILY activities that will help you accomplish them.
