Traditional time management tells us that by doing things more efficiently we’ll eventually gain control of our busy lives, and that increased control will bring us the peace of mind and fulfillment we’ve been longing for…Nirvana at last!
Time Management promises us…Faster, Harder, Smarter…MORE! But how do we know if what we’re doing is really what we want? Getting to the wrong place faster and more efficient still gets us to the wrong place…lol. Wouldn’t it be smarter to know WHERE we want to go first and then get there as fast and efficient as possible?
What we need now is a compass, not a clock. A meaningful life is not as much a matter of speed, efficiency or how fast we get things done…it’s more a matter of what we do and why we do it. It’s time for a new level of thinking…time to focus on the inside…on what’s truly important.
Over the next few days and weeks we’ll explore the way we spend our time and determine if we’re truly focused on what’s most important…a Clock, or a Compass.
