An excerpt from Stephen Covey’s book, “First Things First”: “Years ago, as I was wondering between some stacks of books, I chanced to open a book in which I encountered one of the most powerful, significant ideas I’ve ever come across. The essence of it was this:
Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
That idea hit me with incredible force. In the following days, I reflected on it again and again. It had a powerful effect on my life. I began to discover in that space my own ability to make a consciously chosen response”
