He’s waiting for your call…

In October of 1962, there was a standoff between President Kennedy and Premier Khrushchev of the Soviet Union over planting nuclear missiles in Cuba. The crisis was averted because, in part, communication was established.

A red telephone was installed on the desk of President Kennedy, and another on the desk of the Premier of the Soviet Union. This communication link was called the ‘hotline’.

I was too young to remember this crisis, but I do recall vividly, Commissioner Gordon having a red phone on his desk (The Bat-Phone) to communicate with Batman in times of trouble.

As a young child, I was riveted to the television and listened intently as Commissioner Gordon called Batman when facing the threat of the Joker or Penguin. The point to be made here is, communication is vital.

It’s important for us to remember, Jesus has given us a ‘hotline’ to God, but it is not just for emergency use – it is to be used all the time.

Spend time with your Heavenly Father today. He’s waiting for your call…
