My son recently had the opportunity to visit the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. He said it was an incredibly moving experience. Over the entrance to the camp a plaque reads, ‘The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again’ (George Santayana).
The word ‘remember’ occurs over 250 times in the Bible. It is so easy to forget all that God has done for us. It is important to look back at your our lives as well as history to remember all that God has done.
Over the weekend we celebrated Easter. At the Last Supper, Jesus instituted the service of communion so that we would never forget the two most important events in world history – his death and resurrection.
Generations come and go but the name of Jesus and all he has done for us will be remembered for ever…
