One of the 9?

In Luke 17:11-17 the writer talks of 10 lepers who meet Jesus on the way to Jerusalem. They asked Jesus to heal them. Jesus told them to, “Show themselves to the priests.” (vv.14) They immediately ran off, healed. One of the 10 stopped, turned around, ran back and threw himself at Jesus’ feet to thank him. Jesus asked the man, “We’re not all 10 cleansed? Where are the other 9? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner? (vv. 17-18).

It’s so easy to get consumed by work, family, relationships, church (yes, church) and life in general. How often do we separate ourselves and find a place where we can be alone, one-on-one with God, to not only hear his voice but to thank him for his provision, care and unconditional love?

In the morning is my time with God. I love how Steve Green details his special time with the Lord in his song, “In the morning.”

In the morning deep calls to deep.

In the morning you quietly speak.

In the morning you find those who seek.

In the morning.

In the morning I listed and wait.

In the morning faith anticipates.

In the morning you make my way straight.

In the morning.

Do you set aside time to hear Gods voice and thank him?
