Hello God!

I read a story this morning about an older lady who underwent a serious surgery. The chances of her surviving were very low. After her surgery she awoke in recovery and with blurred vision saw her surgeon in his white coat. She smiles and said, “Hello God!”

It was obvious that this beautiful, elderly lady had complete assurance in the resurrection of her spirit. Upon her death, she fully expected to see God.

Her certainty about the resurrection was based on the cornerstone of Christianity: the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first Easter day. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us through the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 1:18–23).

One day, you too will be raised and be able to say, ‘Hello God!’ I take great comfort in this. I hope you do too…
