Gideon was a frightened, inadequate and uncertain man. That makes him even more of a hero to me…lol. It shows how incredibly brave he was to go against so many (Judges 6:1-7:8). Gideon was also sensible to check that he had got it all right by asking God for His confirmation.
If you feel prompted to do something bold or radical, ask God for confirmation. You need to know that you have heard God correctly. Often we feel a sense of urgency but remember, God is timeless. A day, a week, a year or a lifetime is but a blink of a eye to God. Patience is the key.
Several times Gideon asked for confirmation. There have been times in my life where I’ve been unsure and asked God for confirmation. He has always been gracious to answer…in His time. But once I received the confirmation I needed, and was sure that the path I was taking was indeed God’s will (as with Gideon), it was full speed ahead!
