Sometime ago I read a story about a young man living on the streets of Los Angeles. This young man lived day to day, begging for money and often became aggressive to those who refused to give. When the the young man died it was discovered that he had inherited a huge fortune. He had a beautiful home with every luxury imaginable, but he chose to live on the street with a shopping cart filled with trash. This troubled man could not bring himself to leave behind the life he knew and never enjoyed his inheritance.
Some people are frightened of change. Others believe change is simply not possible. Yet the wonderful news is that through God’s wonderful grace, you can change. This change is key to spiritual life, growth and transformation. It is not just about changing our actions or appearance; we need to change on the inside – we need a change of heart.
