If All Else Fails, Use Words…

I read over the weekend of a shy young lady with COPD (which was getting progressively worse) met weekly with a support group at a local church. She had no friends so this group was her only support. Somehow she didn’t receive the email letting her know the counselor had rescheduled the class for a different day. As she waited, she picked up some of the churches literature and was intrigued. She turned up on Sunday morning and surrendered her life to Jesus.

The following Sunday she came forward for prayer, and let the pastor know she was suffering from COPD. During the prayer time she was completely healed. The following week she met with her doctor who was obviously astonished. He promptly took her off all her medications.

This wonderful lady’s life changed from the inside out. People who had never met her would stare at her because they sense something special about her. As people would talk with her she would she met Jesus and what he had done for her. She then began praying for people with illnesses and saw Jesus heal others and he did her. One in particular had terminal cancer.

When she was baptized at the church, 150 people came to witness the event. This shy, friendless young lady had a huge impact on others.

It is so important that we all seek God’s guidance and help – in our own individual  ministries and in our lives. With God on our side we can achieve so much more than we could ever dream of in our own strength…just as the young lady with COPD.

I remember Pastor Russ Stiverson tell me once, “Preach the Gospel with all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength. And if all else fails, use words.”

Can others see Christ in you without you uttering a word?
