Before I had a personal, one-on-one encounter with Christ, I was angry. I was violent and didn’t know why. I put myself in situations where I could have been hurt badly or even killed. It didn’t matter…nothing really mattered except doing something that would momentarily hide the pain I felt.

After I accepted Christ into my heart all the pain disappeared. I felt a love that consumed me. I wish I could say that it was all butterflies and rainbows after that but it wasn’t. There were times (and there still are times) when I disbelieve, grumble, disobey, worship the world’s idols, sin, and do wrong. What is Gods response?
He shows me favor!
He comes to my aid!
He gives me joy!
He is kind to me!
He saves me!
He leads me!
He redeems me!
He answers my prayers!
He delivers me!
He notes my distress and hears my cry!
He shows me his great love!
How can He possibly do this? The source of the sufficiency of God’s grace is ‘his great love’ (Psalm 106:45). Because God loves his people so much, ‘many times he delivered them’ (v.43). He ‘heard their cry’ (v.44).
No wonder the psalmist ends by saying, ‘Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord’ (v.48).
Have you failed? Have you fallen short? Reach out to God. ‘His great love’ is waiting for you…
