Living Life by Design

A two minute read for busy professionals to start their day (Monday-Friday) off with something positive, inspiring and thought provoking.

When I was 15 my mother passed away from breast cancer. My dad did his best but as the days, weeks and months went by I just became angrier and more destructive. I hurt people and deliberately put myself in incredibly dangerous situations. I look at my life now…a beautiful wife of 39 years, three wonderful children, and six grandchildren. Two of my three children and all six grandchildren live just a few miles from me, and I see them all the time. Retrospect is always crystal clear…lol. It’s plain to see that It was Gods hand of protection on me when I was young and now Gods hand of blessing is on my life.Take a moment and read Psalm 44:1-12 today. The Psalm reminds us how vital it is to put our trust in the right place. Our trust should not ultimately be in your own strength…’It was not by their sword that they won…I do not trust in my bow’ (vv.3,6). Rather, we are to trust the Lord: ‘It’s you, you who saved us’ (v.7).

The psalmist looks both backwards and forwards in this passage. As he looks back he says, ‘It was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them’ (v.3). As he looks forwards he says, ‘You are my King and my God… Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes… you give us victory over our enemies’ (vv.4–5,7).

Today, if you need the strength to PUSH BACK, and have victory over your foes, that strength will come from time spent with God. Read, pray, and place your trust in God…
