Back when I was pastoring, I was constantly amazed at how an extremely dyslexic, somewhat shy person could be used to move so many people. It certainly wasn’t anything I said. It was everything that God said, and did through me. He made me righteous, and through this righteousness Gods spirit moved in powerful, life changing ways. God allowed me the privilege of leading people to Him because I chose to walk in His wisdom rather than the world’s foolishness.
I spend time in Gods Word every morning. I especially love reading the book of Proverbs. It contrasts the lives of the ‘foolish’ with the lives of the ‘wise’. In Proverbs 10:21-30 we see the writer contrast the life of the ‘righteous’ with the life of the ‘wicked’
‘The lips of the righteous nourish many’ (v.21a). Righteousness is about our relationships – it is about bringing blessing to others. We cannot be righteous in isolation.
We are made righteous because of the relationship we have through Christ. It is not something that can be earned. ‘This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe’ (Romans 3:22).
Today, who can you ‘nourish’ (feed, guide, encourage) with your words?
